"The Anthropology Library at the British Museum is one of the world's major specialist anthropological collections. Today the Library contains around 120,000 books and pamphlets and 4,000 journal titles (of which about 1,500 are current), in addition to microfiches, microfilms, maps, newsletters, sound recordings and congress reports.
We are looking for a professional library cataloguer to work on the on-going Retrospective Conversion Project. The work involves creating and editing records to AACR2 and MARC 21 standards.
Required skills/qualifications: You will have at least three years’ cataloguing experience using MARC standards in a similar environment or academic library. You will have a degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Librarianship and Information Studies. Knowledge of Unicorn System is highly desirable as well as knowledge of two European languages. You will be able to work without supervision and show commitment to the completion of the project.
